​Party Planning: Are You Celebrating St. Patrick’s Day This Year?

Finding ways to celebrate the upcoming St. Patrick's Day holiday doesn't have to be difficult. Millions of locations and venues around the world are planning festivities for the day. Growing up in India, this wasn’t an occasion I was very aware of or even knew what it was about. Moving to America, this was one of the first “holidays” I went out for with friends and found out it was just another reason to meet with friends and have a fun time here.

The great part about having a holiday that is celebrated worldwide is that everyone celebrates differently. Some places go all out while others tend to make it a more private affair. One way that most places like to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day though appears to be by gathering, hosting and watching parades. So on that note, here are just a few of the amazing St. Patrick’s Day parades you can plan for this year:

New York : On March 17th at 11 a.m., join about two million other people who will be standing and watching one of the best parades out there. This is actually the biggest St. Patrick’s Day parade in the world, which makes it a must to attend at least once in your life. And if you can't attend, you can join in with the other millions of viewers around the world who will tune in to see the parade LIVE as well. 

London : Those who reside in London know that it's not possible to celebrate this holiday in just one day...so they've opted to have a three-day celebration instead! From March 16-18, the city will be buzzing with everything green. These days typically draw a low crowd in the hundreds of thousands so it's always a good time to be had. If you are visiting then, watch out for parties so you aren’t caught off guard.

Chicago : Chicago knows how to ring in St. Patrick's Day with style. And they choose to use the term "go big or go home" literally! Holiday celebrations take on a whole new level with the city going green. From the river to the buildings...you name it. Expect festivities, music and crowds at every turn. It's truly an amazing site to see. There might also be a few pub crawls that might interest you.

Los Angeles : The city of angels is no stranger to celebrating St. Patrick's Day. In fact, this year there are plenty of great restaurants, pubs and attractions that are offering up some amazing parties, discounts and entertainment. The great part about finding ways to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day around the world is that everyone is coming together and having fun.
