The City of Beverly Hills launched their summer City of WELLTH campaign today at Alo Yoga in Beverly Hills to promote the city as a wellness and health destination for locals and travelers alike. WELLTH ambassador Christie Brinkley, author Jason Wachob, yoga teacher Caley Alyssa, chef Matthey Kenney, feng-shui expert Dana Claudat, founder of Bodyism James Duigan, and meditation expert Charlie Knowles were in attendance and spoke to guests on different aspects.
Mayor Lili Bosse began the event officially by welcoming all and providing an overview of the healthy efforts the city was promoting before turning over the presentation to author Jason Wachob. All guests received a copy of his book Wellth: How I Learned to Build a Life, Not a Résume that redefines successful living as well as a copy of Kenney's Plant Food.
He invited the panel to join him on the discussion that involved pointers on the pillars of WELLTH including MERGE - move, eat, restore, gratitude, explore. Wachob then interviewed Christie Brinkley who looks as beautiful in person as she does in pictures. She was the epitome of positivity and confidence as she answered questions on health, wellness, routines and more. A vegetarian since the age 14 and committed to an organic lifestyle, she recently launched an exclusive line of Organic Prosecco called Bellissima, from Italy in Summer 2016.
Guests were invited to join a yoga session at the end and all attendees left with a Beverly Hills bag of goodies and more information on WELLTH offerings at hotels, spas and restaurants in the area participating in this campaign for the summer. You might find me there!
The next afternoon, Mayor Lili Bosse offered a free public meditation session with Deepak Chopra, MD, on the lawn outside Beverly Hill's City Hall. Chopra is a world renowned pioneer in integrative medicine and personal transformation, and has partnered with the city to launch Mayor Lili Bosse’s S.O.U.L. Sessions, Seek Original Unique Learning, part of Mayor Bosse’s #bhhealthycity initiative, which encourages a healthy lifestyle for the mind, body and soul.
