Atkins Park Restaurant and Bar in Virginia-Highland is scaring up a week’s worth of enchanting eats and entertainment. On Tuesday, Oct. 27, the staff will tap a special cellared keg of Terrapin’s Midnight Monk (9.8% ABV), a black Belgian IPA retired in 2014, with food pairings - appetizer, entrée and dessert - that can be ordered à la carte, with or without the beer. The food and beer will be served starting at 5 p.m., with a screening of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” in the dining room at midnight. On Wednesday, Oct. 28, the restaurant hosts a pumpkin-carving contest and scary movies on the dining room projection screen. Prizes include house cash and a prize pack from Southern Tier Brewing Company. The contest and movies start at 10 p.m., and each contestant gets a complimentary draft of Southern Tier’s Pumking ale.
