Farewell Palm Desert

Palm Desert JW Marriott
Breakfast at the Rockwood Grill is a luxurious affair, make time to indulge.
For my last day in Palm Desert, I got up fairly early so I could sit out in my balcony and watch the sun rise as I sipped my coffee to the sound of the birds in the lake below creating their morning ruckus/symphony. I will miss waking up to these beautiful views every day. The air here is just so much cleaner, you can feel it within a day.

This is the women's relaxation area at the spa, extremely quiet and serene. They have a men's and co-ed section too.
Breakfast was on property at the hotel’s Rockwood Grill. I loved the buffet selections and the tables overlooking the water. It was colder earlier in the morning but as the sun rose, more guests walked out to eat on the patio tables overlooking the water. I took this time to also walk around and get some nice sunny shots of the property.

On your way to the spa, you might chance upon these beauties. They are available to rent right from the resort.
Eventually though, I did manage to find myself at the spa, hmmm wonder how that happened!! It is located at the far end of the property so if you happen to have a room on the opposite end, it might seem like a bit of a walk heading there especially since it is not connected internally to the hotel but is a standalone building by itself. I did not have the luxury of time to try any of the treatments but I did get a quick tour of the facilities and enjoyed about an hour indulging in their Jacuzzi and steam rooms. Loved their rolled up and iced lavender cooling towels. They also have a dedicated swimming pool for only spa guests but I chose to head onto their relaxation rooms and sip on some tea while I got my reading fix for the day. They have showers and changing rooms here like all the major spas do, and their gift shop here has some cool cosmetics if you are into that kind of thing.

Fantastic views of the mountains from any which direction you look!
With that last experience I bid the hotel farewell and drove back home. I still have many things in the area to complete so I might be back sooner than I intended, especially since it is such a short and easy drive from L.A. Stay tuned for more adventures coming up...signing off with this cutesy below :)
