It all began as a roadside berry stand and Chicken Dinner Restaurant in the 1920s that has now evolved into one of Southern California’s most popular theme park destinations, attracting millions of visitors each year - Knott's Berry Farm. Four themed areas are filled with rides, shows, and attractions here with truly something for everyone. There’s also the Knott’s Soak City Water Park theme park which is perfect for summers. And guess what?
They even have a full-service Knott’s Berry Farm Hotel. All this magic is located in Buena Park, Orange County, California, ten minutes from Disneyland and 30 minutes from downtown Los Angeles and LAX. Now Knott’s Berry Farm has an attraction called Calico River Rapids which takes you on a search for new lands through the outskirts of Calico. Expect a variety of wild surprises along the way, such as roaring rapids, indigenous wildlife, and peculiar homesteaders.
The circular raft ride seats six and the ride has some unexpected twists and turns, with rushing waters and rapid currents along the unexplored river path. A great activity for a group of friends or even a large family reunion. What are the Four Themed Areas? Camp Snoopy is the most beloved children's wonderland. It has the Camp Snoopy Theatre, with a variety of shows starring Snoopy and the PEANUTS Gang – grab a photo with them if you see them walking around, which you probably will. Old West Ghost Town is an 1880s Old West Boom Town of cowboys, gun fights, can-can dancers, stagecoaches, a steam train and panning for real gold. It is also the home of Pony Express-Knott’s first suspended coaster. Thrilled yet?
Fiesta Village is a festive salute to California's Spanish legacy, complete with architecture, food, eye-catching works of art, and spicy rides including Montezooma’s Revenge®, La Revolución, Wave Swinger, and Dragon Swing – you have to try these. The Boardwalk pays tribute to the celebrated Southern California beach lifestyle and a retro era. This is also where you’ll find thrill-seeker favorite, Xcelerator, which sends you screaming 0-80 mph in just 2.3 seconds!
Enjoy great food and shopping while you are at it. There is no way you can say you are bored because there is so much to do in a day here. They also host special events through the year and it’s always fun to visit for one of those. The Knott’s PEANUTS Celebration is dedicated to celebrating the beloved PEANUTS characters. Springtime means the Boysenberry Festival so expect a 31-day food festival featuring countless, one-of-a-kind boysenberry inspired dishes.
Knott’s has a one-of-a-kind interactive experience called Ghost Town Alive! and September and October nights see the annual return of Knott's Scary Farm, the world's largest, most haunting experience in the world, with 11 haunted attractions and 1,000 monsters. For Halloween weekends in October, Knott’s Spooky Farm is a daytime, non-scare celebration of cheer rather than fear, and is the social event of the season with shows, activities.
In November and December, the Park becomes Knott's Merry Farm®, where joy is in season. And about Knott’s Soak City - it is a separately gated, 13-acre water adventure park adjacent to Knott’s Theme Park. It is themed to Southern California beach towns of the 1950s, has 17 speed, tube and body slides, a Tidal Wave Bay wave pool, and a three-story Beach House featuring water guns, nozzles, sprayers and other interactive surprises. How fun is that?
