​Mobile Passport Celebrates World Tourism Day with $5 off app

Mobile Passport will celebrate World Tourism Day on September 27, 2019 by offering its app for $9.99. For each upgrade to the Mobile Passport Plus paid app, $5 of that $9.99 will then be donated to nonprofit Tourism Cares' disaster recovery fund to support Hurricane Dorian recovery efforts. Tourism Cares is a mission-driven nonprofit that “unites the travel and tourism industry to benefit the people and places our industry depends on.” Funds will be directed specifically to Tourism Cares’ disaster recovery fund, which focuses on restoring and improving tourism resources and infrastructure to support communities long-term. The strategy revolves around recovery investments to improve the visitor experience and quality of life at a destination once tourism has recovered.

The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) hosts world Tourism Day. “Its purpose is to foster awareness among the global community of tourism’s social, cultural, political and economic value and the contribution the sector can make in reaching the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals."
