With the intention of celebrating a time-honored holiday tradition while staying true to modern sustainability efforts, Long Beach restaurant Roe Seafood is presenting a Feast of the Seven (Sustainable) Fishes dinner series from December 17-24, 2017. Chef/Owner Arthur Gonzalez is one of the area’s foremost figures in the sustainably sourced seafood movement. He is consistently innovating with his menus at Roe Seafood, a community fixture recognized for its elevated cuisine and convivial atmosphere.

Held over the course of seven nights, this feast will focus on one sustainably sourced seafood dish per night, alongside a dish “Catch Card” provided by the server detailing insights into the seafood such as the fish species, catch location or fish origin, and the names of both the fisherman and the boat.

The Feast of the Seven (Sustainable) Fishes dish of the night will be offered alongside the regular dinner menu, and will include playful and globally inspired items : Oyster & Raw Seafood Bar on Sunday, Fried Baccala & Chips on Monday, Ramen & Clams on Tuesday, Smoked Octopus Takoyaki on Wednesday
, Shellfish Bake on Thursday, Fried Mixto on Friday, and Baked Lobster Thermidor on Saturday.

Roe Seafood is the home of seafood fanatics in the trendy Belmont Shore neighborhood of Long Beach. Chef Gonzalez serves elevated takes on the area’s freshest, sustainable seafood and draws inspiration from Asian, European, and New American influences. He is widely credited for leading the seafood sustainability charge in the area, and is one of very few chefs to have his Fisherman Receiver’s License, allowing him the rare ability to source seafood directly off the fishing boats.

Dishes at Roe range from "Everything" Salmon Tartar and Grilled Seasonal Fish "Al Pastor," to Smoky Seafood Chowder, and, of course, roe and caviar. Inventive takes on classic cocktails by Bar Manager Greg Goins complement the bright, fresh seafood perfectly. The colorful, semi-open space along Long Beach’s buzzing 2nd Street is open for daily for lunch and dinner, in addition to weekend brunch.

Roe Seafood is located at 5374 E 2nd St, Long Beach, CA 90803. So which day am I seeing you there!
