Holiday celebrations are looking a tad bit different this year, but venues are doing their best to spread the cheer with festive markets, elaborate displays and many options for a fun drive-thru experience with friends and family. Here’s a list of holiday lights drive-thrus you can head to in and around the larger Los Angeles County area for a dose of sparkles, laughter and taking in outdoor experiences from the warmth of your personal vehicle.
Santa's Speedway Christmas Lights Drive-Thru
Until January 10, enjoy holidays with the family when you drive-thru this light spectacle from the safety of your vehicle. The Irwindale Speedway has been transformed to a magical display of lights and attractions including a record setting Christmas Tree of lights towering over 110 feet. Spot Santa’s Village, giant sized holiday treats, and other themed displays. Experience lasts just under an hour. Six Flags Magic Mountain Drive-Thru Experience For the first time ever at Six Flags Magic Mountain, experience millions of lights, festive holiday theming, and seasonal music favorites in a drive-thru nighttime spectacular eight distinctly different areas throughout the park. Until January 3, make merry memories as the park transforms into a magical winter wonderland with millions of colorful lights. Due to popular demand, new dates and times have been added. The Elf on the Shelf Magical Holiday Journey Open in Los Angeles County until January 3, this is an all-new, one-of-a-kind immersive experience taking you through a dazzling light spectacle with toy-repair workshops, gingerbread villages, and all the sights and sounds of the holidays, blended with a touch of high-spirited fun expected from Santa’s elves. Tickets are sold for timed slots; experience lasts an hour and narration available in English and Spanish. SoCal Wonderland Holiday Drive-Thru Experience Celebrate the holiday season with millions of lights and themed decor across semi-enclosed and open-air tunnel installations featuring synchronized holiday music lights, elaborate sets and immersive stories and a massive holiday tree and forest attraction. You can spot Santa, Mrs. Claus and the elves among displays highlighting holidays around the world and hologram installations. The Bite LA Winter Holiday and Stocking Stuffer Sweets Crawl Eat, play and be merry with a stocking stuffer sweets crawl which includes an ugly car sweater contest, stories and songs with Santa, holiday gnome village, snowman sno-ball fight and up to eight bites. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options available in this eat-thru event that can last between 1-2 hours. There is also a yule log stage where you can get one hot drink of your choice to sip on during your ride.
Holidays in your Car Ventura
Discover a symphony of sight and sound at the Ventura County Fairgrounds featuring more than one million LED lights, holograms, projection mapping, and lasers animated to the tunes of holiday classics. What better way to get out and experience a magical evening with your loved ones? Get in the car and get your cell phones ready - some displays stand at over 40 feet in height so get that shot! Happy Place - The Drive Thru The drive-thru journey begins on the third floor of Westfield Century City’s parking structure, covering over 50,000 square feet and leading you up to the picturesque rooftop. It features over 18 unique and vibrant exhibits, designed to embrace and accentuate experiencing the event from your own vehicle. It is an immersive pop-up exhibit with larger-than-life installations. Visions of Holiday Glamour on Rodeo Drive Rodeo Drive always puts on a grand show for the holidays, so this year is no different. On now, is a new style of festive holiday installation bringing the fashion runways of Paris, Milan and New York safely to visitors and holiday shoppers. Ten beautifully adorned mannequins span the three-block stretch of Rodeo Drive from Santa Monica to Wilshire Boulevard. Hikari – A Festival of Lights Until January 10, head here for a celebration filled with joy and light, Hikari means shine in Japanese, and Tanaka Farms has over a mile of shining lights to welcome you to their 30-acre farm. Be dazzled by farm-themed lighting from trees to scarecrows and tractors, and even sugarcane that received holiday treatment. And watch out for Santa on the weekends, Holiday Road Drive Thru Holiday Road Experience and LA Dodgers Drive-Thru Holiday Festival Until January 10 at King Gillette Ranch in Calabasas for the holiday road drive-thru, expect to see larger than life holiday installations, thousands of Christmas lights, Santa, Mrs. Claus, Elves, countless candy canes and all your favorite holiday cheer. Also indulge in a drive-thru holiday festival at the LA Dodgers Drive-Thru, complete with a light show, LED video displays, fake snow and interactive displays celebrating the holidays.
